There's a practice called Physician self-referral. This is when a physician refers someone to some hospital, that they has part ownership, financial interests or purchase of. It is regarded as a conflict of great interest that the physician will figure to take advantage of referring patients to his hospital for health services. This self-referral practice has a chance to be abused as the physician may over-refer patients for services that could or may not be necessary.
